Architecture: Blending design with surroundings

I am not an expert to talk much about architecture, but what I can say about the design above is a good way of blending design with the surroundings. There are some points that I think in my opinion about the design.
1. Smooth building texture as much as the desert is smooth.
2. The color of the building is friendly with the surroundings.
3. Metaphor: Water drop from the sky and giving life to the desert, as you can see vegetation in the building.
4. The design avoid from having a solid form to avoid contrast element.
5. The design have a strong character which is one of the characteristics of a good design.

P/S: I think to blend is a little bit more interesting than to contrast.
