What the famous architects said?

I found these from the blog that my friend visits very often, architect-studio.blogspot.com. Those famous architects have their own opinion which i think is brilliant and have deep meaning in it. Just take a few seconds to think about what they said....

Le Cobusier:
"To be modern is not a fashion, it is a state. It is necessary to understand history, and he who understands history knows how to find continuity between that which was, that which is, and that which will be."

Philip Johnson:
All architecture is shelter, all great architecture is the design of space that contains, cuddles, exalts, or stimulates the persons in that space.”

Frank Lloyd Wright:
"Form follows function – that has been misunderstood. Form and function should be one, joined in a spiritual union."

Frank Gehry:
"Architecture should speak of its time and place, but yearn for timelessness."

Louis Kahn:
"Architecture is the reaching out for the truth."
